What Happens on an Emergency Call
The first job is finding where the water actually enters. It is often several feet uphill from the stain you can see, up at a valley, a chimney flashing, or a lifted shingle. We trace it, stop the water, and protect what is exposed. Then we talk through whether the roof needs a targeted repair or whether the age and condition make a replacement the better use of your money. If a repair will hold, we say so.
Winter calls run a little differently. Ice dams form when heat escaping the attic melts snow that refreezes at the cold eave, and chipping at that ice with the wrong tools puts holes in the roof underneath. We take it off safely and then look at what caused it.

Does my roof need a repair or a full replacement?
It usually comes down to age and how widespread the problem is. One leak around a chimney on a twelve-year-old roof is a flashing repair. Curling shingles across the whole south face of a twenty-five-year-old roof is a replacement, because you would be paying twice to fix it piece by piece. A sagging roofline or soft sheathing underfoot points to replacement as well. We come out, get up on the roof, and tell you which one you are looking at. If a repair will hold, we say so.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most typical New Hampshire homes are a one-day job. We tear off the old roof, install the new one, and clean up the yard before we leave. Bigger or more complex roofs and commercial buildings can take longer, and we will give you a real timeline on the estimate so you are not guessing.
